“Eternal Ganga” by artist Shubha Bahadur

The solo art exhibition “Eternal Ganga” by artist Shubha Bahadur was inaugurated today. The event was attended by Sanjeev Kishore, Gautom Rajput, who lit the ceremonial lamp to start the week-long celebration of the River Ganga.

Shubha Bahadur, a Delhi-based artist and graduate of the College of Art, Delhi, is known for her watercolor paintings. Her style is realistic and emotional, and she creates her work directly on-site, capturing the true essence of the places she paints.

The theme of “Eternal Ganga” reflects her deep admiration for the River Ganga, which she sees as a symbol of India’s culture and spirituality. The exhibition features paintings that show the river’s journey from its source in Gangotri to its flow through Prayagraj, Banaras, and beyond.

Her paintings capture the dynamic rush of Himalayan waters, the serene confluence of the Ganga and Yamuna in Prayagraj, and the vibrant hues of Banaras’ ghats at sunrise and sunset.

Shubha also portrays the Ganga as a divine goddess, blending traditional temple art with her unique watercolor style. Her work brings the river’s history and beauty to life.

At the inauguration, guests praised her work for its depth and beauty. One guest said, “Her paintings capture not just the river’s beauty but also its spirit and meaning.”
