Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) on Saturday decided to provide medical benefits to retired insured persons by relaxing the rules. The Labor Ministry said in a statement that this decision was taken in the 193rd meeting of ESIC under the chairmanship of Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav. It said that ESIC has approved the proposal to provide medical benefits to insured retired workers.
ESIC new policy: Retired insurance employees will get benefits, these workers will also get benefits
The proposal approved by ESIC covers insured retired workers who are excluded from ESI scheme coverage due to exceeding the salary limit, if the employee was under insurable employment for at least five years before retirement/voluntary retirement. Persons who were in insurable employment for at least five years after April 1, 2012 and retired/voluntary retired with a salary up to Rs 30,000 per month on or after April 1, 2017, will be benefited under the new scheme. Will be done.
ESIC new policy: North East states including Sikkim get relaxation
In order to enhance the service delivery mechanism in the North Eastern States in order to fulfill the vision of Act East Policy of the Government, ESIC relaxed the existing norms for setting up of dispensaries, medical infrastructure/regional/sub regional offices in the North Eastern States including Sikkim Is. During the meeting, a new policy on AYUSH 2023 was adopted in ESIC institutions to promote the overall well-being of ESI beneficiaries.
ESIC new policy: Panchkarma, AYUSH units will be established in the new policy
The policy details the establishment of Panchakarma, Kshar Sutra and AYUSH units in ESIC hospitals. Earlier, in August 2023, giving great relief to cancer patients, ESIC had started chemotherapy in 30 hospitals across the country.
