Assam, August 4, 2026: As devastating floods continue to affect thousands of people across Assam, Indus Towers, one of the world’s largest telecom infrastructure companies, has intensified its humanitarian efforts by providing relief assistance to nearly 1,100 flood-affected families in the districts of Charaideo, Sivasagar, and Jorhat.
The relief distribution was carried out under the company’s flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Pragati, across relief centres in Sonari and Teok. The programme focused on addressing the urgent needs of affected communities by distributing comprehensive relief kits containing dry food supplies, WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) essentials, medical items, and specially designed nutrition kits for pregnant women, new mothers, and children aged six months to two years.
Speaking on the initiative, Rajender Gurung, Circle CEO (NESA), Indus Towers Limited, said that the floods have severely disrupted access to food, healthcare, and other essential services for thousands of families. He emphasized that Indus Towers remains committed to standing with affected communities during difficult times and will continue supporting relief, recovery, and long-term resilience across the Northeast.
Employees of Indus Towers also visited the flood-hit areas and interacted directly with beneficiaries during the relief distribution, reinforcing the company’s commitment to delivering timely assistance where it is needed most.
The latest initiative follows the company’s recent flood relief efforts in Arunachal Pradesh, highlighting Indus Towers’ ongoing commitment to disaster response and community welfare throughout Northeast India.
Through its CSR programme Pragati, Indus Towers will continue collaborating with local authorities, community organizations, and development partners to strengthen relief, rehabilitation, and resilience-building efforts in disaster-prone regions.
The relief distribution programme was implemented in partnership with the Northeast Affected Area Development Society (NEAID).
