Karnataka Tourism makes an impact at IITM Pune 2023

Karnataka Tourism made a remarkable impact at the India International Travel Mart (IITM) held from November 24th to 26th at Deccan College Ground in Pune. The event offered an exceptional platform for Karnataka Tourism to showcase its vibrant cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and diverse tourism offerings to an engaged audience.
The booth prominently featured Karnataka’s heritage, and architecture, including iconic sites like Papanatha Temple, Pattadakal, Hampi Chariot, and Bidar Fort, illuminating the state’s rich temple heritage. Through interactive sessions and engaging exhibits, visitors were captivated by Karnataka’s historical marvels, scenic landscapes, and cultural legacy.
Distinguished dignitaries, including Mr. Mehboob Shaikh, Chairman of the Travel Agents Association of India, Pune Chapter, and Mr. Dabhade Rahul, Business Head of Radha Tours, Pune, visited the Karnataka Tourism stand. The pavilion showcased various tourism service providers from Karnataka, such as Intersight Tours & Travel Pvt. Ltd., Big Travels, Turquoise Holidays, Birchwood Retreat, Aglaonema Resort and Spa, Coorg, Mysore International Travels Pvt. Ltd., Cintacor Island Resort (VHF Resort), SBIT Travels Pvt. Ltd, The Quorum Hotel, Blue Bird Tours and Travels, along with the Department of Tourism, Government of Karnataka, Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation Ltd, and the Jungle Lodges & Resorts, accentuating the comprehensive tourism experiences available in the state.

Attendees were enthralled by glimpses into Karnataka’s vibrant traditions and culinary excellence. The showcase of the state’s delectable cuisine left a lasting impression, enriching the overall experience for visitors.
Engaging diverse audiences including travel enthusiasts, industry professionals, and potential collaborators, Karnataka Tourism facilitated insightful discussions on ecotourism, heritage, adventure tourism, and wildlife. These dialogues fostered invaluable collaboration and knowledge exchange, enhancing tourism prospects for Karnataka.
Karnataka Tourism was honored with the esteemed “Responsible Tourism Destination of the Year” award at IITM Pune. The recognition, was presented by Mr. Amit Sharma, President of the Hotel Association, Pune, and was received by Mr. Raghavendra H P, Deputy Director, Department of Tourism, Government of Karnataka in the presence of Mr. Srinivas, Public Relations Officer, KSTDC Ltd.
The successful participation of Karnataka Tourism at IITM Pune 2023 reaffirms the state’s premier position as a tourist destination in India, beyond fostering valuable interactions, the event laid a strong foundation for future collaborations and partnerships in the travel and tourism industry.
