Anud Singh Dhaka has quietly built a strong space for himself in the industry with his dedication and thoughtful choices. His powerful performance in the latest web series Psycho Saiyaan has once again proved his range as an actor. With every project, Anud shows growth, sincerity and a deep respect for his craft. Now, the actor has opened up about how he selects scripts and prepares for challenging roles.
Speaking about what matters most to him while choosing a project, Anud made it clear that he prioritises content over everything else. He said, “For me, it’s always the story and screenplay. Doesn’t matter who the team is and if they’re great. I don’t believe in all this. As much as I would want to work with the legends, for me, at least at this stage, I try to look for scripts that are entertaining or that will probably challenge me and help me push my boundaries. Also, if that script puts a smile on my audience’s face and gives them a good time. That’s what I look for.”
For Anud, the emotional depth of a character or the big names attached to a project come later. What truly drives him is whether the script connects and whether it offers him a chance to grow as a performer. He wants stories that not only entertain but also test his abilities and allow him to explore something new.
When asked about preparing for intense roles like the one he played in Psycho Saiyaan, Anud emphasised the importance of discipline and hard work. He shared, “There is always structured preparation. You cannot just rely on instincts because there are times when your instincts fail you. It’s the preparation that prepares you. You have to do something a thousand times for you to know that you can do it just one more time, rather than relying on your instinct and then feeling, maybe I will just do it.”
He further added, “Many times it helps, but at the end of the day, there is an entire crew or director, a channel that has trusted you with the responsibility, so you cannot just take any opportunity with the attitude of ‘Oh, I’ll wing it.’ I trust my instincts. Instincts are important, but not to be dependent upon. So, I believe in a lot of preparation. Every time, I feel like I’ve prepared enough, I go and prepare some more.”
Anud Singh Dhaka’s way of doing things shows that he is mature and cares about his work. He needs to be able to tell a good story and be well-prepared, and that’s what keeps him on the right path in business.
