New Delhi – Panchtatva – The Elemental Mosaic, the much-anticipated solo exhibition by celebrated artist Rita Jhunjhunwala, was inaugurated at The Visual Arts Gallery by renowned art critic Prayag Shukla, art curator Sushma Bahl, and designer Anju Modi. The exhibition showcases a stunning collection of paintings, sculptures, architectural forms, and handcrafted objects, offering a unique artistic interpretation of the five fundamental elements—Prithvi (Earth), Jal (Water), Agni (Fire), Vayu (Air), and Akash (Space/Ether).

Speaking about her work, RitaJhunjhunwala expressed, “This exhibition is a tribute to the elemental forces that sustain life and the cosmos. Through textured layers, bold brushstrokes, and diverse materials such as handmade paper, fabric, jute, and wood, I explore the deep connection between these forces and human existence.”

Her critically acclaimed series, The Warp & Weft, delves into the intricate relationships between the five elements, while Sylvan Chronicle captures the beauty of nature through fluid landscapes, vibrant skies, flowing rivers, and blossoming flora. She seamlessly integrates architectural forms into her work, with painted wooden bookshelves, faux books, and intricate doorways that evoke a sense of nostalgia and introspection.

Art curator Sushma Bahl praised Jhunjhunwala’s ability to blend abstraction with realism, stating, “Her use of earthy palettes interwoven with luminous hues enhances the spiritual and philosophical essence of the Panchtatvas. Each piece invites the viewer to reflect on the primordial energy of these elements and their role in sustaining life.”
