June 2025 – This World Environment Day, let us come together in support of the global movement to eliminate plastic pollution. The theme this year, ‘Ending Global Plastic Pollution,’ reminds us of the urgent need to shift away from our reliance on plastics—from industrial materials to single-use household items—that often end up polluting our rivers, oceans, and ecosystems, and threatening the health of both nature and communities.
At Aarthi Scans and Labs, we are deeply committed to driving this change from within our own operations. As part of our sustainability efforts, we have reduced the use of PVC film by 7%, eliminating approximately 2,600 kilograms of plastic by digitally sharing CT and MRI scan images with patients and doctors. Additionally, we’ve made significant strides in energy conservation by retrofitting our diagnostic centres with LED lighting, energy-efficient HVAC systems, and solar panels, resulting in a 12% reduction in energy consumption.
But this is just the beginning. To build a truly sustainable future, we must go further—by embracing eco-friendly alternatives such as jute, glass, steel, and paper, and by improving waste segregation and recycling infrastructure. Every individual and organization has a role to play in cultivating responsible consumption habits and reducing our environmental footprint.
